Tampa Bay Beer Week 2021

Though the week will look different than previous years, we couldn’t be more excited for Tampa Bay Beer Week 2021, the annual celebration of the eclectic and dynamic craft brewing scene around Tampa Bay. Beginning on Monday, March 8th at our Spruce Street Taproom, we will be creating an outdoor biergarten, releasing new beers, hosting sampling events, and tapping rare and innovative beers all week. Tampa Bay Beer Week will culminate with the release of our highly-coveted Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout alongside a rare Bourbon Barrel-aged version on Friday, March 12th. We’ll continue to feature Hunahpu’s throughout the weekend, marking our twelfth consecutive Hunahpu’s Day celebration.

What is Tampa Bay Beer Week, you ask? Established in 2012, Tampa Bay Beer Week, Inc. (TBBW), is a not-for-profit organization that “showcases the Tampa Bay area as an emerging and vibrant craft beer destination and to advances the local and international craft beer culture through events, education, and marketing,” according to its mission statement. As the number of breweries in the Tampa Bay area exploded in the 2010’s, the TBBW organization sought to shine a spotlight on their dynamic craft beer community by aligning beer releases and events across breweries to collectively elevate the region’s 80+ craft breweries. We have been proud TBBW partners since 2012 and are looking forward to another successful Beer Week in 2021!

The festivities kick off on Monday, March 8th, with the release of Bon Vivant’s Companion, a barrel-aged sour ale brewed in collaboration with Wisconsin’s Untitled Art. This cocktail-inspired beer was brewed with Untitled Art’s Levi Funk during TBBW 2020 and will be available in 500 mL bottles exclusively at the Spruce Street Taproom.

Boat Drinks Mixed Pack, an innovative new package that offers both citrus-inspired beer and vibrant hard seltzer in a single box, will be featured on Tuesday, March 9th with a sampling taking place at our pop-up biergarten outside of the Taproom.

Wednesday, March 10th we’ll be featuring Jai Low IPA, a full-flavored IPA that builds on the success of our flagship brand Jai Alai IPA. The 120 calorie, 4.0% ABV beer will be featured on draft in the biergarten, marking the first time the beer has been made available on tap since its launch in September 2020. This will be your only chance to try Jai Low IPA on draft for the foreseeable future!

On Thursday, March 11th, Cigar City Seltzer will be in the spotlight, with samplings and other focus events taking place to celebrate the recent release of the our new line of hard seltzers. These vibrant, Florida-inspired seltzers evoke sunshine and citrus with flavors like Meyer Lemonade, Key Lime, Ruby Red Grapefruit and Florida Orange. These flavors will all be available to sample and enjoy in our open air biergarten throughout the day.

The annual release of Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout, lovingly dubbed “Hunahpu’s Day,” has been considered the culminating event of each Tampa Bay Beer Week, and that tradition continues in 2021. What began humbly as a small beer release to commemorate CCB’s first anniversary in March of 2010 has grown into one of craft beer’s most anticipated events. The release of this 11.2% Imperial Stout with decadent mixture of cacao nibs, vanilla beans, cinnamon, and ancho, pasilla, and guajillo chile peppers will begin on Friday, March 12th through a partnership with Oznr Craft Beverage Marketplace.

Beer lovers who were lucky enough to win lottery access to Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout through Oznr will begin picking up their bottle allotments at the brewery on March 12th and can celebrate its release by enjoying rare variants of Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout on draft. Vintage bottles of Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout and Hunahpu’s Day 2021 merchandise will also be available as well.

All of our Beer Week events will take place at the Spruce Street Taproom (3924 W. Spruce Street, Tampa, FL) between Monday, March 8th and Sunday, March 14th. In addition to Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout bottle pickups, the Spruce Street Taproom will be open for full-service dining, drinking, and to-go beer and merchandise sales.

We can’t wait to celebrate Tampa Bay Beer Week with you all this March!
