Jai Alai Ween 2021 Celebration

Jai Alai Ween Party at Cigar City Brewing

Are you ready for some scary good beer? Well then make your way to the Spruce Street Taproom this October for Jai Alai Ween! Our brewery will host an entire month of celebrating Jai Alai Ween throughout October with rare and never-before-tasted specialty beers being tapped each Monday. The celebration will culminate with the Jai Alai Ween Bash on Oct. 29, featuring a costume contest, giveaways, performers, and plenty of frighteningly good beer.

What began in 2013 as a small tapping of several CCB favorites to which different Halloween candies had been added has grown to become Jai Alai Ween, one of our most anticipated annual events. Always held at the Spruce Street Taproom, Jai Alai Ween has variously seen outdoor celebrations, scary movie screenings, and other spooky goings-on over the last nine years. The heart of the event has always been the bevy of specialty beers being poured, many of which are only made once and all of which are only available during Jai Alai Ween.

In 2021, we’re expanding the party to the entire month of October. Each week will feature two special iterations of some of our classic beers tapped Monday at 11 a.m. Margarita Gose will be in the spotlight Oct. 4 with a pomegranate iteration and a Jai Alai Ween classic recipe featuring rainbow candy. Oct. 11 will see both a peanut butter marshmallow and a cookie version of Maduro Brown Ale on draft. On Oct. 18, two brand new versions of Frost Proof Belgian-style White Ale, one with blueberries added and one with raspberries, will be offered. We will celebrate the hoppy favorites Jai Alai IPA and Jai Low IPA on Oct. 25 with candy corn Jai Alai IPA and a lemon candy Jai Low IPA recipe. All these beers have been produced in exceedingly limited quantities and are sure to disappear quickly.

The celebration will culminate Oct. 29 with the Jai Alai Ween Bash and the tapping of two versions of our most sought after beer, Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout. One keg will feature caramel candy additions to the spicy, chocolatey beer while the other will see chocolate candy and peanut additions. These treats will pour alongside the final keg of the our award-winning Good Gourd Imperial Pumpkin Ale of the 2021 season. The Bash will deliver beer-soaked excitement featuring a fortune teller, skeleton performers, a DJ spinning spooky tunes, CCB swag giveaways, and a costume contest with winners taking home CCB gift cards and other goodies.

Ditch the candy bag for a pint glass this October and join us for Jai Alai Ween!
