Milk chocolate, freshly ground espresso, and oatmeal raisin cookies find expression in the nose of this formidable beer, with vanilla and a touch of coconut lingering in the background. Rich and viscous on the palate, cocoa and baker’s chocolate flavors give way to blackstrap molasses, vanilla, and cinnamon while a soft, smoky heat builds with each sip. Aging in brandy barrels adds a light wood tannin quality and pear-like fruitiness.
