Dry-Hopped Grove

American Sour Ale

Did you know?

Dry-HoppedGrove is an American Sour Ale that experiences two fermentations. Primary fermentation is conducted with lactobacillus, a bacteria that sours the wort. The secondary fermentation takes place when we add an American yeast. The beer is then aged on cypress wood and dry-hopped with Eureka and ADHA 529 hops. The acidity of this elegant ale cuts fatty foods and oily fish from the palate beautifully. Pairs well with mussels cooked in gueuze, ceviche, terrines and rich, creamy cheese or cheesecake.

Tasting Notes

A nose of ripe lemon and vanilla-like cypress sets the stage for bright, lively acidity and an effervescent carbonation that brilliantly hides the alcohol content of this formidable sour ale. Aging on Florida-grown cypress wood helps balance the beer’s tartness and adds a fullness of body on the palate while Eureka and ADHA 529 hops add subtle citrus and herbaceous notes
