New England-style Double IPA

Did you know?

Rainy is the new sunny. Tampa is the new Miami. Gary is the new Chicago. Cloudy is the new clear.

The admiration that Cigar City and our friends at 18th Street Brewery in Gary, Indiana sharefor the nubilous hoppy beers being produced in the Northeast United States led us to create our own hazy masterpiece in the form of a Double IPA. A hearty addition of malted wheat and an ignorant amount of bittering and flavor hops ensured that our big, resinous collaboration would be as clear as a politician’s conscience.

18th Street’s masterful handling of hops has always impressed the team at Cigar City and we’re excited have put our hop heads together for a beer reminiscent of the finest sauces in French cuisine.

Tasting Notes

Tangerine and fresh cut grass aromas set the stage for a big, dry and bitter Double IPA reminiscent in flavor and appearance of a hoppy New England beer. Flavors of orange peel and pine needles and a bracing bitterness balance a spicy alcohol character in this ode to haziness and hops
